Sydenham Monthly Market, Sunday November 24th

Sydenham Monthly Market returns to Venner Square this Sunday. It may be cold outside… but from Cocoyohn’s hand-felted jackets and Lucy Lynch’s Fairtrade scarves and recycled Tartan throws to wholesome soup from Elvira’s Secret Pantry and patties by Mean Green Foods, there will be plenty on offer to keep you warm inside.  With a collection of wind-up gramophones on display courtesy of ‘To Have and To Hold Vintage’, you can even get your circulation going by boogying along to some good old-fashioned jazz or rock-and-roll!

Food lovers can look forward to special seasonal fillings from Mr Muffin and Pastificio Mansi, whose original recipes are always guaranteed to surprise and delight. Elvira’s Secret Pantry will be serving up the best in gluten-free breads and cakes – perfect for those who usually miss out on winter comfort treats. And Capocaccia have ‘a van full’ of Pecorino cheese, and fine pancetta for your wintery dishes.

For those of you thinking a little further ahead, there is also lots to choose from. With last Christmas posting dates for far-flung places approaching, Jayne Williams’s Sydenham Christmas cards provide a lovely personal touch for relatives abroad. Cards can also be found at Entoptika Photography – as can prints with a unique perspective on our local area and further afield, for that special (and airmailable!) present.

Special touches for your own creations can be found at Angela Kay Designs, with a selection of buttons and craft items alongside vintage china to brighten your table. Or if you are looking for something to set off that party season outfit, be sure to take a look at the expertly selected pieces at Sylvia’s Vintage Gems.

More Vintage and vintage-inspired pieces can be found at two newcomers to the market, Scotty’s Independent Trading and The House of Dalrimple.

Last but certainly not least, there’s the opportunity to pick up something adorable for the little ones from Ella and Oscar’s range of children’s clothing and accessories.
