Burton Nitta, an artist collaboration of Michael Burton and Michiko Nitta, have been appointed as the Artist in Residence for the hubs.
They will be exploring, through participation and engagement, our experience of the high street and how it will transform in the future. They plan to simulate ideas to reconsider the high street, where changes to trade and commerce due to emerging science and technologies will create new opportunities and influence how we interact with future services.
Michael and Michiko are based in Havelock Walk in Forest Hill. Their most recent work includes a collaborative performance called The Algae Opera, which premiered at the V&A Museum in September 2012.
Both Michiko and Michael graduated from the Royal College of Art; and have exhibited nationally and internationally including at the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the National Museum of China.
Expect to see creative pop-up activities in both hubs that invite you to experience the future.
